wink.gif avalaunch - whoa - evox on steroids hehe - too much use and NO eye candy. i can not think of anyone who could ever need half of the utils built into that bad boy. nexgen - c'mon - this thing has died more times than buffy the vampire slayer. except every season buffy came back looking better than the season b4 ;P stick a fork in that one already plz.
i'm sure you'd see a change in the numbers if you closed this poll and started a new one including ALL the contenders wink.gif

I haven't tried the others, i'm too noobish to dare really, but every feature i desire is in those two.

Then perhaps you should try the others before you comment.

Honestly, it's like putzing arounfd in a Chevette, because 4 wheels, an engine and a steering wheel are all you need, and deciding it's better than the Jag XK7, even though you've never driven the other car.  blink.gif

I was commenting on the ones i had tried, would u rather i commented on the dash's I've no experience of?  I wasn't criticising the ones I hadn't tried, as is evident from the post, but simply saying I hadn't tried them. You might not want to be so confrontational or you may suffer a stress related illness in later life.

Give me a chance, I've only had the box a couple of weeks, and I've been too busy playing games to stare at menu screens.

You should also consider that many people would be completely unable to drive a jag safely, and would probably write it off and annoy or injure other road users at the same time.

Yes, I do that all the time.

Apparently, you don't understand the emoticons very well, either. If I was pissed, I would have used  dry.gif or  mad.gif  instead of  blink.gif

The point was you are lending your opinion one two dashes without checking out the others, and deciding that's good enough for you. I found, in life, that there are often times many things I couldn't imagine needing until I actually had them and used them - and now find I can't imagine life WITHOUT them.

I was pointing out that your statement was shortsighted and potentially misleading to newbies.

Honestly, Avalaunch and MXM don't require much effort to run. MXM has some nice payoffs if you invest some time and effort, but it's not required - 95% of MXM users pick it up right away (the other 5% get excellent help from the forum  tongue.gif ) Unlike Evo-X, MXM doesn't require you to even have a configuration file in place to work. I've taken great pains to give MXM abilities at both ends of the spectrum: for the newbs and for the experts.

Alright man, I was just refuting your assertion that I'd commented on dashes I hadn't used.

Dont get me wrong, MXM and ava etc look great, and I really appreciate the work the devs put in to them and all the other homebrew projects, I just haven't had time to check them out yet.

To go back to your car analogy though, if you only use your car to nip to the shops and back (i.e. only use your dash as a simple menu/ftp server/media player) then whats the point in having the jag when the punto you already have works just as well?

I will try the other dashes out tho, and when I have an opinion on them I'll post it here.

Peace  beerchug.gif

Because it looks better... i'd prefer a jag to a punto  laugh.gif

I dont care what the dash looks like. It's visible for less than 1% of the time my xbox is on, so I couldnt care less. As for spending ages researching, reading faqs etc just for something that looks better, well thats eating into my game playing time.

Beauty is skin deep, but functionality goes right to the bone  wink.gif

wink.gif  wink.gif Well i use it more than any other part of my xbox
As i use it to play my soundtracks all the time!

beerchug.gif personally I like them all

each one has its differences and there own accomplishments.

i agree with BenJeremy that most will pick Evox just for the mere fact thats thats the 1st app associated with the xbox.

However there isnt one i like more than the other.  MXM is great for all the video previews, avalaunch offers many more features than any of them, nexgen, seems as though it died.  and then evox is great for noobs.  Nice and simple nothing to mess with.

I use evox as my main dash, but also use avalaunch and MXM as other dashes.

XBMP have never tried as a dash, but love the app.

beerchug.gif  beerchug.gif  beerchug.gif  beerchug.gif   to all the developers!!!!!!!
