I was waiting for
Undead to make a formal announcement on this, but
heet is right, the project is dead.

We've looked over the neXgen code, and it's a mishmash of a funky scripting language and messy C code. The problems are apparent if you are a programmer, in terms of whether it is worth working on or not.... The only thing worthwhile out of it was the 3-D models used for the UI. From MY perspective, it would have been easier to add neXgen's 3-D elements into MXM, rather than build additional functionality into neXgen. My impression from
undead was that Team Assembly had come to the same conclusions about the state of the code.
As far as the source being released to the general public, it's not under my control. My vote is to release it, but I'm not even sure
undead has permission either, to release it.
I hope this clears up the situation for some people. I realize many of you will demand the release of the source code, but I have to tell you that it's pointless to deluge me,
undead or any member of Team Assembly with countless PMs or E-Mails. They realize people want th esource code to play with, and as I said, I'm not even sure it's up to them to release it, either.
Hopefully
undead will add his 2 cents worth and give us the final word on the subject of releasing the source code to this project.
