It definitely is dependant on the PC.  I get 32KB/sec from one PC in my house to my Xbox and 5MB/sec from another PC to the same Xbox.  Perhaps it is dependant on the amount of RAM in the PC.

Slow PC has 128MB PC100 SDRAM
Fast PC has 512MB PC2700 DDR RAM

Actually, in his case, it's his HUB. I've told him this... he gets decent speeds when his Xbox is hooked up downstairs, on a different hub, but upstairs, he gets crappy rates. With NOTHING else changing, the OBVIOUS answer is hardware - the change in the hub and/or the cable is to blame... nothing ELSE.

He might see a slight improvement using the software mentioned, but that's an overall speed increase, not the ultimate solution to his problem.

I've been using Speed2K for quite some time, however I use it because it increases my upload speed (not on my LAN but on the internet).

When my connection used to not be capped I could get up to 60, now however it's capped at about 36...

Want to hear something real crazy. I just did a mod for another local. Went good and then I started FTPing over the usual goods. I noticed he was getting 16,500 - 25,500 KB transfer with FlashFXP. Well up untill his, every xbox was getting 2,500 - 4,500 KB. NOW my xbox gets 17,500 - 25,500 KB.
Explain that! I sure can't. blink.gif

Did you buy your networking equipment from the same guy jack bought the magic beans from?   jester.gif

Did I say you're stupid, or lieing?  Nope, I said a 100Mbps network can only transfer at 12.5Mbps max.

The software is being stupid as I said. wink.gif

Yeah, Mage is right. FlashFXP sometimes reports incorrect speeds... dunno why.

The most reliable way is to manually calculate based on the number of bytes transferred with the time elapsed.

i have a linksys 10/100 router and im running xp. now here is my problem. when i go to my control panel, and then network connections, it says that my nic is operating at 100Mbps. thats good. but then there is another icon called internet gateway (which im assuming is my router, correct me if im wrong). however, when i double click that icon it says "Speed: 10Mbps." How can I change this to say 100Mbps?

edit: also, my upload speeds  from my xbox are ridiculously slow. they  used to be around 10,000KB/s, now its around 500. i thought that taking files from xbox are supposed to be faster?
