No, MXM does not use FileZilla.

I was never able to get it working properly, so I went back to J.P.Patches excellent code and made my own improvements on it.

ok i found out what my problem is but i dunno how to fix it...EvoX says my line status is 10/HALF DUPLEX...this means that my LAN Network is only 10Mbps...i gotta find out what i can do to make it 100Mbps! i think im gonna have to buy a new NIC card!

Your "switcher", i.e. your hub is to blame. It's probably only a 10mbps hub. You need a 100/10mbps switchable hub.

i switched the hub to a 100Mbps one...now that i have checked...everything in this connection is 100Mbps.... could it be something to do with my MAC Address...cuz i got a new EEPROM awhile ago and i never checked to see which duplex i was getting...all i know is that i used to get 100/FULL DUPLEX, but now i cant anymore...i have NO CLUE!

Well, if the problems began when you changed your EEPROM, then certainly it points to that as the possible problem.

If I get a chance, I'll take a scan at the EEPROM values and see if they've figured out any relating to the NIC speed.

ok thx alot BenJeremy..i really appreciate ur help... i dunno if AFTER i changed my EEPROM that it went to Half Duplex but all i know is i USED to get FULL DUPLEX....could it be possible that my wire (cat5) is like 10Mbps?

The cable shouldn't really matter (though companies like Monster Cable make a ton of money convincing people otherwise), unless there's a bad connection somewhere.

If the connection's good, it shouldn't matter.

The test would be to hook it up the way you had it before and check things there. If it reverts back to 'full' speeds, then you know the problem is hardware related for sure.

Cables do matter.  Older, cheaper cables with four wires max out at 10 mbps.  Newer cables have 8 wires, and max out at  100mbps.  Also, if you have insanely long cables, this can also affect speed.

Thank you, sir!

Yeah, it occured to me later that there is possibly a difference in the transmission quality between cable types. 8 wire would be twisted pair, to reduce inductance and RF interference.

Length WILL make a difference... but as you said 'insanely long' is the key there. Less than 100ft should be fine, particularly in the same household (common grounds for all equipment).
