hmm. Try booting up evolutionx off a cd first.

I had this problem, so I put evolutionX in a folder on the C drive (called evolutionx). I renamed the evoxdash.xbe to xboxdash.xbe. Recopied the ini file (because half of the contets got deleted for some odd reason). It worked fine until my xbox got somewhat messed up, so I had to do it all over again.

When I started to do it a second time, it didn't work. Booted off a cd once, and for some reason it all worked well after that. Maybe because a RemoteX save was created? I duno if it was that, but it worked for me.
