My idea for the next release is to have some such a option which allow to share drives hdd and dvd with the network. There is no point using ftp when you're in a network and best of all, I might be able to use DVD Decrypter to create an iso or something since I think it's one the most powerful tool I ever seen so far.

What about adding possibility to run background prosesses while neXgen is running? or starting neXgen-aware applications from neXgen while neXgen is running in the background and still accepting ftp-connections. these applications could even interfere with the neXgen GUI, adding it's own 3d-objects and functionality to the neXgen menu. (You could make a SDK for developers to add such addon-modules or to make their applications neXgen-aware).

neXgen should provide its own API with standard functionality to these addon modules / applications such as provide functions to query information from neXgen config-file, display menus / text / 3d-objects in the neXgen GUI, provide an unified keyboard for applications using the gamepad (like the one in the crusaders ftp-client). This could almost grow to an operating system.

Maybe the ftp and http-server could be addon-modules running in background instead of being a part of the executable, and I could think of a lot of other background processes like a "NeoProject"-client cracking the RSA-key from the xbox, Samba server, etc.

Well, this project looks extremly promicing. I hope you would consider this for the future!  smile.gif

AFAIK, the xbox doesnt support multitasking, so it cant run more than one program at a time.

madcat_ninja, FTP is much faster than using shared drives etc. and you can easily get software (for free!) to mapp to a ftp site as a drive. you can setup FTP folders in windows easily also

Isn't Xbox ordinary PC hardware? If the Xbox doesn't support multitasking, how is it possible to run Linux then?

It doesn't have to be multi-tasking anyway.  If it's approached in a manner similar to Evolution-X's dashboard In-Game-Reset, it seems that it could be done through a bios patch loaded at boot time.
This would be the first step neccessary to bring Xbconnect to the console, instead of just the PC.

Hammy, you've expressed your opinon over and over.. You're just making a complete fool of yourself  by continuing to post like you are.. It's obvious that you don't like nexgen, and even more obvious you have abolsutely no valid input whatsoever, so why don't you just avoid the nexgen forum.. You'd be doing everyone else a favor.

Idiot.

Now that would be a nice irony. Wonder why no one has released NeoProjectX
