also, if anyone has added another selection menu in the APPS and GAMES section, post how you did it. i copied the line in the xml that neXgen uses to make an emulator section, but it didn't work. I'm not sure if i'm doing it wrong or if the compiled code is not set to read in anymore menus at that level... thanks

It does not look much cooler if you have put some time into making your own evoX skin. But I do know what you mean. It is a lot slicker out of the box, but in my world, it is what is under the hood that counts.

For people having trouble getting the main window screen to have a custom boot item make sure you are closing the tag. I think the example in the ini file doesn't close their tag...
For example:
<ITEM TEXT="XBMP 2.0" ACTION="Launch_Custom" PARAM="F:\APPLICATIONS\XBMP2.0\default.xbe"/>
The last slash says that their is no tag to follow.

I think it would be grand if you had the opportunity to tweak everything via the .ini file.
For example I don't like the MS DASHBOARD link being their by default and not being able to get rid of it, and this music is killing me.

Anyone else have a buggy "OPEN TRAY" feature? When I hit the link my XBOX sounds like it is trying to open the tray, then it crashes.
Also, why do you need the open tray feature anyway? You would have to physically put a new disc in anyway. I guess it does save a few seconds during that arduous 6 foot walk to the XBOX. Haha. Gotta shave as many seconds as possible.

QUOTE
(SeasonOfFire @ Dec 25 2002, 06:03 AM)
Something I figured out (for those having problems with configurations)....
If an example of one of your applications is C:\applications\boxplorer\default.xbe
make sure you configure nexgen.xml without the trailing slash
example:
<SEARCH SECTION="APPLICATIONS" PATH1="C:\applications">
AND NOT
<SEARCH SECTION="APPLICATIONS" PATH1="C:\applications\">
Also, if you had a game located at F:\Halo\default.xbe
you would want the following:
<SEARCH SECTION="GAMES" PATH1="F:"/>
AND NOT
<SEARCH SECTION="GAMES" PATH1="F:\"/>
the trailing slash will make it NOT WORK.
So yeah, hope that helps someone. The trailing slash screwed me over for awhile because i was trying PATH1="F:\" rather than the correct PATH1="F:"
But dont forget the final trailing slash which is not shown in the .ini file.
Good looks SeasonOfFire

the status screen on the http dash does a little play by play of what is going on with the ftp.
Like what is connected and what has failed, etc.

Yea this thing is great but it seriously needs subsections. I bet it would be a lot smaller if the music were excluded. Otherwise, nice job!!!

One last buggy item from my "buggy item flood"
When you scroll through a long list of items, games for example, there is a slight hang in the scrolling and audio ever so often.
I am sure most of these are known items and I am being an annoyance.
HAPPY KWANZA. WORD!

ME=RETARDED ON THE FOLDERS
X,Y,and Z are always there (at least if you got the HDD replaced)
But the H-O folders are a little odd...
