About the FTP....Thanks Bloodymary, I appreciate it. I will not give out that info till I upload the new build. Ther is people who i promised a beta...and i will supply it, but I know this current build is broken, and i dont want that version to float around....so anyone who i promised a beta...will get it...i hope you understand why i dont want to give out this broken build.

Fully understandable...

I'll PM you in a moment.

Hecto.
I didnt mean make it invisible, I meant make it look like this...

Default Blue skin in UX-- imagine the square is the orb.....

see how the main menu is arranged in a semi-circle//crescent shape?

those are floating menus, when uxa starts it will show the menu box in the middle. you can right click on it and a menu will come up....click remove..now go to the text inserter...and "free" button will now be enabled. add those and move them around..

or go the menu options on the "main" tab and select "free menu" now go to the visual tab and select "free" and insert...and do the same as above

i found a few more things,, when you change the text color its permanent,, you cannot switch it back,, i changed from white to grey to yellow,, and it came out grey,,, well actually black,, ive done a little testing and it seems the hex values for the colors are not too  accurate,,

also i may be missing something but when i make menu fixed at a spot,, it has a black background to it,, when i thought it was always transparent,, i may be missing that option,, but its also throwing my text way off from where it is supposed to be,,

and for this i think is ux related and nothing that can be done,, but when dragging the text items to a certain length it still goes beyond the boundaries i set for it

il try and figure some of it out but for now im gonna take a break,, ill se whats goin on tommorrow

edit: i forgot about this a while back,, but  it doesnt save your  ftp settings

kthx

edit: i was wrong,, i thought it was a one time thing,, but not,, whenever you change color settings to one of your defualts,, you cannot customize the colors from there,, otherwise itll change the rest of the colors to whatever color is on top of the list,, its weird as it will not do this until you have begun to work on the skin,, such as add a BG fix the menu ect

the themecolors was broken. ive since rewrote the code....it should now work. as far as the hex colors....everything is handled by vb.net. also keep in mind that colors you see on your monitor and the colors you see on your tv may slightly be dfrnt. but colors was broken.

to remove the backcolor to the "fixed menu" select menu_backcolor and change the opacity to zero. i will double check it in a bit.

about the text.....i completely left out the width attribute from xmlwriter. it has now been added.....i didnt know i left it out till unleashx himself told me i needed it for **EDIT**
Im off from work for the next week, expect beta 2 tonight. so for now. no more bug reports till i release the new one.

I checked the ftp settings saver, and they work for me. i im able to save everything....but i will go thru that code today anyways.

as of right now, no new features are in the work....i need to work on these bugs
And your right....im overwelmd by all this. but it fun sometimes.

So I completed the layers feature. UXA code is 100% working. BUT I was using 1 layer "listview" to do both shapes and images. After testing and asking UnleashX, shapes and images are grouped seperatly. So im taking suggestions.

Do not include shapes in the layer feature. or create 2 layer "listviews" 1 for shapes and 1 for images.

Help!!

BTW, I exprienced the bug were the FTP settings are not saved. I rewrote the code...I hope its fixed.

Once i get some suggestions. I will implement it and then release beta2

It was HELLA annoying. But it was weird. cuz i would check the registry, and its saves it. but the next time i start it...it has the old shit. I gotta check the "end" routing and make sure im not resaving bad info....but i did go thru test ftp code and re-wrote it.

Layers. ...I have to support shapes. Not too many people use them....but ther is a few who do. anyways, im about done with the 2 layers. i really want to get the pretext feature in ther....it shold be easy.

I got a suggestion.
How about an option to save to disk in a folder unzipped?
I know a few people that make constant changes to skins and just leave them all unzipped on the xbox. (me included)
preview of what the finished will look like. aside from the vb.nets handling of the invisble thing i mentioned earlier.

sidenote. does this sectiond of the board online come alive late at night? hehe

To convert custom fonts on the fly means including an illegall file created with the  m$ XDK, and im not sure i could wrap it to make it work. so no, i wont include a feature to convert fonts. However. you can get fontbundler and create your own. If you do, I would like to include them with the final build.

Hecto.
I knew about font bundler. I thought maybe there was a non illegal utility to do the same.

trust me....i looked into it. that would have been the ultimate. but everything kept pointing back to fontbundler. Like I mentiond before, I was ready to write a wraper for it and let the user download it on ther own....and go from ther. If you can find vb.net code to create those font.abc font.tga files, then let me know or even another dos program would do as long as i can shell arguments to it.

i got alot already. hundreds. the hard part is converting them so they can be used in UXA.

If you(or any of the uxa beta testers) feel like helping me convert some, this is what needs to be done:

we need a ttf(windows) font...for this example i will say tahoma.ttf

first copy the tahoma.ttf font from the windows\fonts folder to your desktop

open up fontbundler/maker and select tahoma, and select the size you want to start with. right now im only using 3 font sizes, 10, 12, 14 (maybe 16, but i think unleashx will resize the font for those hdtv sets). so you need to create 3 xpr fonts , size 10 would be labeld tahoma-10.xpr, and then size 12 would be tahoma-12.xpr and so forth. so all together you will have 4 fonts:

tahoma.ttf
tahoma-10.xpr
tahoma-12.xpr
tahoma-14.xpr

copy it to your uxa fonts folder and the next time you restart uxa, the fonts will appear.

I also need help with custom images and backgrounds.
