Ok, "NEW" is a bust. Im still working on layers. once thats done I will re-write the "NEW" code to be way safer. right now its a one line code snippet, I knew it was too good to be true to reset everything that easily. For now...to make a new skin, exit and then restart it manually.

Thanks.

if layers are taking that much time i say to hell with it,, as how many times do people overlap images?  i know they overlapp bg and images but thats about it....

unless your almost done with it......

This just came to mind, even when you ftp to the xbox, succesfull or not, the zip file is still created. its located at:
C:\Program Files\Blee Zee Inc\UXArchitect\Temp

**edit >>Just leave UXA running, cuz if you kill it, it will call the cleanup routine and delete everything in the temp folder.

Layers is about done....easier than I thought. now i just need to recode the xml writer to read from the layers listview....and then write the images/shapes in order. Im about to go to bed, but layers will be done tmo....I will release beta2 tomorrow and just  hide the "New" button till i fix that. sound cool? I know I got a few people waiting for the next build, I think a public release will be soon. I want to create more custom images, BTW, what do you think of those? I did those like in 10 minutes.

the custom images where cool. I made a few and put them in the images folder.

one last thing before you crash out for the night//morning.(1am here) how would i go about skinning the menu to be say like the default dash, like it has a semi circle//sickle look to it? I can't see anything in menu except a big box that says MENU.

reason I ask is because I didnt know if it's in the beta or not. if it's not, then concentrate more on squishing those bugs since stability is better than features for now.

beleive I know how hard it is to program, I wrote an app in vb6 that lets you draw with ascii characters save and load the saved files as text. there's some bugs but it works the way I wanted it to. by the time I was done I was to frustrated to bother fixing the bugs hehe. besides I had more fun writing the script for the NSIS installer that I made it use.

I think i know what you mean about the default menu....removing the borders and backcolors from the menu right? simple.... go to the colors tab, go to the menu section, and use the opacity and set the opacity to 0 on all the colors except menu_textcolor & menu_activetextcolor

that makes the the other parts invisible. The same effect can be achived by removing the elements you dont want from the skin.xml.

I got 2 fixes i can do....put a little note under the menu section saying to set to 0 opacity to make invisible, or making the default "colorscheme" automaticly set it to 0....or both!!

for the circle parts, you need to create the image in photoshop. you can look at both consoleUI and electric skins. both have images (rings - circles) that cover icons. so download those skins and manually load them into UXA and you will see what i mean.

globe: i think its the main..."Planet" in the default ux skin...the blue x, I/you would need to check the UnleashX tutorial that tweakr did.

ive been meaning to ask this for a while but have not created any new skins lately so i have forgotten,, but is there a way to make it so "Time: 10:30 PM" just shows up at "10:30 PM" or for that matter any other thing such as tray, boxname,, ect

ux is this possible?

the items like "nickname" take up soo much space

@pdottz, you gave me an idea for the menu box...instad of the box called menu, i will genereat the menu....like i do in the color editor. so it looks better.

@PaCMaYNE, i guess im not understanding your question. why dont you PM your default.xml you created by hand and the one UXA generates...i will take a look.

as far as removing the pretext from some of those items.....i think you add a $ in front of it and behind it...so it looks like this..
$Time$

shit another thing i gotta add..a check box called "Remove pre-text"

I re-read your post..i think i understand....you are aware that you can resize the images right? you can get a tiny image and resize it to fit the whole screen. ther is a small ":grabhandle" on the lowerright corner of the image when you select it. put your mouse over it and it will change to an arrow. at that point you hold down the mouse and resize the icon to fit whatever circle you want.

i found a few more things,, when you change the text color its permanent,, you cannot switch it back,, i changed from white to grey to yellow,, and it came out grey,,, well actually black,, ive done a little testing and it seems the hex values for the colors are not too  accurate,,

also i may be missing something but when i make menu fixed at a spot,, it has a black background to it,, when i thought it was always transparent,, i may be missing that option,, but its also throwing my text way off from where it is supposed to be,,

and for this i think is ux related and nothing that can be done,, but when dragging the text items to a certain length it still goes beyond the boundaries i set for it

il try and figure some of it out but for now im gonna take a break,, ill se whats goin on tommorrow

edit: i forgot about this a while back,, but  it doesnt save your  ftp settings

kthx

edit: i was wrong,, i thought it was a one time thing,, but not,, whenever you change color settings to one of your defualts,, you cannot customize the colors from there,, otherwise itll change the rest of the colors to whatever color is on top of the list,, its weird as it will not do this until you have begun to work on the skin,, such as add a BG fix the menu ect

hA,, nah mayne,, you got too much your takin in right now,, i think i have partly figured it out anyways,,  thats something you dont need to worry about,,

as far as the pre text option thats a good one,, maybe just another scroll bar for it

Pre-text  Non pre-text

kthx
