Position Of Background Video.
« on: November 27, 2005, 09:47:00 PM »

Well I finally decided to give UX a try and I'm loving it.

One thing however, Is there any possable way to change the position of the background video? I was messing with the skin.xml for about an hour but I think that's a lost cause. I'm sure many of you know what I'm trying to do but just in case. The skin I'm making has a .png layer over the background with a hole cut out on the bottom left around "top 180 left 35" so I can see my video file but I don't know how to reposition the background to that spot. Is there a way to ad a video file as an object?

Also If I can't resolve it in UX. Could someone tell/point me in the right direction for creating an avi/mpeg/ect. where I could make a blank avi that is 640 x 480 and then merge over that my smaller avi in the correct position? I know this is possible, I've seen some skins where if you just play the background video the video is off center on a black backround.

Thanks, Ladd

You cant do it the video will always get resized to the screen rez because its a background
Unleashx (the man) hasn't got around to making videos as layered items yet apart from the preview video.  And I doubt he will since he rarely seems to appear here anymore I guess his time is very very short

I'm sure many video editing apps will let you do this but it really all depends on what format your original video is.   If your going for something free then try virtualdub and play around with its filters for adding black bars.   I use Adobe Premiere pro but its worth real big $$ to buy but if you have a dvd createing software it might be able to do it
