How do I upload them to my xbox with out using a FTP method?

Well you can't upload them without ftp
but you can burn them onto a CD/CD-RW/DVD/DVD-RW and then pop the disc into the xbox drive and use the filemanager to copy them to skins dir you have
Or get a fatx formated usb stick and do it that way but thats more of a pain in the arse

on my version of unleash x if i go into skin chooser i hit Y and can select from 2 different sites to download skins from. goes right to my xbox.
