EDIT: ok it is definately a problem with the width being in there. i dont think that line is necessary because i am guessing the text box auto sizes according to the "need". i have  made a few skins and they all have this problem. i guess for now i will just edit my skin.xml using notepad and take out the width all together.  dry.gif   wink.gif

For text items, width is required when scrolling. ther is 3 scroll setting, off, scroll when contents are longer than the width, and always scroll. so for the first and last, no width required, but for the 2nd one...you need it. I admit, some combonations of things dont work right. I could lock it out, but I want the user to have total control. But you also shouldnt have to go back and use notepad. that part sucks. I will see what I can do.

As far as the order of how its placed "top" first or "left" first, it doesnt matter, The way the xml readers works is you just specify the node (text item) then the attribute (top) and it will find it, no matter if its the first, or the 500th.

@love_tropicana, MXM importer is on hold. I was just waiting to see if any new bugs came rolling in. so far none. I will be honest, I havnt even wrote the docs, for this last week, I've been out and about getting some sun, going out and doing stuff. When I was coding UXA, I would stay up till like 5am, wake up at about noon and start coding, do the same shit everyday for weeks. So im just taking a long and needed rest from coding. It was weird, I would dream "code".

Within the next week I will upgrade UXA to official public release, and take it out of beta stage, I will also submitt the news to xbox-scene, post UXA on the unleashx.com website and ask someone to put it on xbins under the unleashx tools.

And I need to add the about page. Not so I can just take credit, but to also list the names of every person who beta tested, and/or simply reported a bug. Any level of participation was very usefull.

I will contact love_tropicana to test a little easter egg im going to hide in the UXA about box. This will be the only clue I give. huh.gif

I do have a suggestion/request regarding the grids.. Would it be possible for the user to specify the size of the grids?

The code has always been ther my friend. It just needs tweaking(it only resizes the "dot" grid and not the "checker" grid). No one has any clue what else is ALREADY coded(remember how I accidently left the MXM importer button visible?). I just dont make those items/options visible, I hide them, Like the video preview/background rendering options(remember those?), scroll the text. Off the top of my head, I can think of like 8 things you guys dont have a clue about, I dont want to mention them, cuz then everyone will be like I WANT IT NOW!!! DONT HOLD OUT!!, but I gotta. When I start coding again, I will PM my old beta testers to go to tweaqrs site to get the details.

This will all be done AFTER the public release. (version 1.1), UXA 2.0 will have everything I left out of all previous versions.

im having a problem layers and how to make them. Also I would like to move around the orb,  able to remove the spinny wheel deal (whatever its called) and change to the shape of the game icon/game prev shape into say a circle or any other shape than a square. This is a very nice app though Im really enjoying making skins too. Keep up the good work.

you cant move the orb.

if you dont want a certain item, like the globe or orb, then make sure that item is not checked.

layers are automaticly created for you when you add images or shapes to your skin. you can then move images up and down, lets say you have added the game icon and the overlay image to make it round, you would make sure your overlay image is at the top and your game icon right below it, you do the same with the game preview. you do this by moving those items up and down with your mouse in the layers tab.

to change the game icon into a circle, you need an overlay image with the center cut out, thats done in photoshop or other image editing software.

When you save your file, it is given the name of the skin rather than anything you type into the save as dialog box. This is quite misleading, and almost lead to me overwriting another save file I was using as a template.

thats why uxa prefills the the name of the skin in all the save dialogs. Are you saying you would like uxa to name the skin to whatever you typed in the save dialogs? and disregard what you typed in as the skin name in the main tab? no matter how i do it, people will always say its misleading, ther is a bug. I cannot change uxa due to 1 persons request, if everyone started to say, yes do it...then I do it. how else can i word this without sounding rude......just dont retype the name. find the folder you want to save it to and hit ok.

Make a square picture from the background so it will melt in. then you just make a transparent circle with the ereaser tools (atleast in PSP, it should work the same in PS ne?)

laugh.gif . but seriously it takes a lot of work to change something manually in the skin.xml and then zip all the files back up and rename it to a *.uxa file. it doesnt take that much work but it would be nice to have that feature.

hey i just thought of something. what if you add a skin.xml editor directly into the program so we can alighn stuff exactly using that and then switch back to the gui part and see how it looks. it would be kinda like including notepad  laugh.gif . but seriously it takes a lot of work to change something manually in the skin.xml and then zip all the files back up and rename it to a *.uxa file. it doesnt take that much work but it would be nice to have that feature.

I do appreciate your suggestions jonathan2007, but I cant add a notepad style editor, UXA will not have total control of the skin.xml, I know ther is people who know ther shit, but I also know ther is people who dont know how to skin, im worried about them, adding some crazy stuff to the skin.xml and then having UXA crash. Im not willing to do that. When everything is fixed, You will NEVER need to reopen your skin and edit it with notepad.

I know everyone wants it fixed now, just give me some time to get my personal life shit together, ok guys? I promise I will deliver. I just need to make some money to pay the bills. I was on unpaid sick leave all that time I was coding UXA. So bare with me and UXA will be updated soon, bugs fixed and new features added too.

Did you think about setting up a "Donation" tab for UXA?  I'd be willing to donate something, may not be much, but if enough people were to chip in, it may amount to something for all your hard work and effort.
