Help With Changing Default Dashboard
« on: February 03, 2020, 02:58:00 PM »

Currently im running on an older version of UnleashX. Unfortunately for some reason, my C drive is empty, and my Dash files seem to be in E\ndts. The unleashx.xbe file was in there and i replaced with the new one (called default.xbe but changed the name) but that didnt help.

Now i want my XBOX to boot into the newest version, instead of having to load it up as an app everytime, what path should i put the new folders into.

Which softmod did you use?

Is your Xbox still booting UnleashX as its default dash?

Im using UnleashX 3.8 and i want to upgrade to 3.9. It seems all my important file go into E\ndts\files\C (including msdash.xbe).

There are numerous .xbes in there that boot up as UnleashX 3.8 instead of 3.9.

So, your softmod is Kingroach NDURE 3.0 or 3.1.

Your dash is at E:\Dash\default.xbe. To update it, take the latest UnleashX (0.39.528A), rename the xbe default.xbe (if it isn't already called default.xbe), then copy it to E:\Dash\, overwriting the current version. When you reboot you will have the latest UnleashX as your dash.

You might also want to get hold of the stock C files (from Slayers, CASH or AID) and copy them to your C partition, so you get sound effects and a usable MS Dash.

That helped a lot thanks.

As for getting the original files, i really think i need it. Ive been trying to get my system to run in widescreen, but when i go into a game it doesnt do so. Also, i want to later get component cables and force progressive scan in games as well as NTSC aspect ratio. Would you say this is down to the fact that i dont have a working MS Dash?

I have Slayers EVOX, but how do i go about putting in the stock files in the C drive?

Most (all??) Xbox 1 games don't run in real widescreen.

Enabling HD on a softmod Xbox 1 is relatively easy - see this link for details. If you don't have XBMC you'll need to use option 9.2 or 9.3.

Having the MS Dash on shadow C makes life a little easier. You use Qwix to extract the C files from Slayers, then FTP them to the empty shadow C partition on your Xbox.

Well actually there are a number of games that run widescreen, like the last two Splinter Cell games, really looking forward to playing DA which is said to be superior on the original XBOX.

Currently my FTP is giving me problems, when i connect with any client, it connects properly only to then not let me access any of my drives.

To make matters worse, my DVD drive barely works, so i couldnt use the QWIZ utility. Fortunately, i have the original dash files in a folder on my E drive, but again, the dash refuses to let me copy the files into C.
