Menu are controlled by config.xml. If you replaced it with the one included in the official distro, then, Emulator is not included. You can opt to delete/rename config.xml and start again.

Versions older than 582(583) is not compatible with the live update server. You can directly upgrade to 584 by replacing the xbe.

@Reese,
Did you unplug your xbox after you did something with it? I think the box is trying to set the clock, but couldn't find xboxdash.xbe. It could also be something else. What/where exactly is the file that you replaced? What was the filename?

The file replaced was xboxdash.xbe on the C:\ . After I got the advice that I needed to replace the dash file (Kinda vague, ain't it?), I looked at the only hint as to what was the UX dash XBE in items.xml, and I read what wasn't the UX dash file (C:\msdash.xbe), and replaced the other XBE that was there. I didn't install the dash originally, so I had no clue where to look.

I feel like I'm wasting everyone's time with this, so I'm going to shut up now.

You did replaced the wrong file. xboxdash.xbe, I believe, is needed by softmod, hence the error you are getting. I believe, program such as XBHDM will be able to help you, but don't quote me on that. My knowledge with Softmod is quite limited, so I can't help you with that really. Your best bet is to consult with the softmod people. This can't be the first time that it happened.

I have a softmodded box, I updated in the same way I always do, but it seems that my box is no longer working. I just ftp'd the new unleashx files and reset, but it came up to the ms boot and froze there. Could someone point me in the direction of a fix for my mistake? Thanks in advance -mike

edit: Could this be a result of replacing the config.xml file? I may have replaced it.

I had to go back to dash 565 with A.I.D. in order for my ftp to work again. any ideas on what else i should do???
installing just the xbe for v584 apparently does not allow me to ftp correctly.

Soooo...I'm another noob trying to update my UnleashX to current (running v.0.37 now) -- I've downloaded the current version, copied over the config.xml & replaced the xboxdash.xbe via FTP, shut down everything, reboot and my XBOX comes up and shows that I'm still running v 0.37.

Is there a little more to things than just putting those two file in my C drive?

my guess is your running a softmod and just replaced the virtual copy of your msdash
when it boots go into system info Y button and scroll right to the bottom and it will tell you exactly where it is and what you need to replace

OK I got it updated and now replaced the config file with my previous before update. wanted to keep the way i did the menu. now the ftp from pc to xbox doesn't work again. any ideas?

I don't think I'm doing this right. Do I just replace the default.xbe in E:\dashboard\? I did try a different way, but when I rebooted the Xbox, the sound in the main menu was gone, and I couldn't play games. Whenever I put a game in, it just came up as Video. I'm back to 565 now.

I know this sounds stupid, but i have been waiting for the option to CYCLE the LED on the front with all colors.... can this come out in the next update? Like UnleashX is awesome.... this seems to be the only thing needed attention in my mind hahaha

Stupid, yet simple.... look forward to seeing it in the next release....
