Fatx?
« on: February 11, 2003, 04:14:00 AM »

Right here, right now I will explain who I am. :o
I am a Computer Modder and mod the HELL out of pc. :P
I love getting my dremel dirty and my soldering Iron wet.
Now that my warranty has come to expire soon my eyes have stubled to the BOX.
I am doing a window mod on the dvd drive and I am thinking about a window mod in the HDD is there a way I can (without a modchip as I do not have one 'YET') format a HDD to the FATX format so I can copy all the data to an old drive (say a 2gig drive) and try the mod in that drive be=4 atticking the default HDD. and then if that works I can do a 120gig drive.
so can this be done within window or anything.

So
Format old HDD to FATX (if that is the correct format)
Copy Data form XBOX HDD to Old HDD
Do Window mod
See if HDD still works  :P
Then do to the XBOX HDD then when money allows
Buy 120gig then modd again. :D   :)
Cheers

Not without a modchip. There is no way to copy the data from the drive. And you can't format a new drive without the modchip, because you cant use the evox or slayer install. And you can't ftp without a modchip. See a pattern here. You can't do anything without a modchip except play origina games and audio cd's.

you'll also need x y or z if you plan on testing if games work so 8 gigs is pretty much minimum
