Major Unleash Problems

This just keeps getting worse. Now I can't even boot retail game disks. I get the same screen, only error 16. Nothing else has changed, so I don't know why it's doing this now.

Yeah, apparently I left my Xbox unplugged for too long. So now it's trying to load the corrupted MS Dash for clock settings before I can load any game. Just great.

But, with a chip, can't I at least boot off an EvoX CD regardless of what the MS Bios looks for? That way, I could at least get on FTP to fix things.

I've tried Xboxhdm, and read the tutorial, but I can't do anything with it, because the HD is locked, and I have no way of accessing the password.

I know nothing about softmods, so I can't help you there, but all modchip BIOSes should be programmed to look for default.xbe on the DVDROM as boot priority #1, before they boot anything from the HDD. So yeah, if you install a chip and work out some way of fixing that clock error (I think you have to leave it looping until it comes out of it, but I'm not sure, never had the misfortune of dealing with one before) then installing a chip should allow you to boot your Slayer 2.6 disc and ftp into your box to fix everything, because the xbox will look for the XBE on the DVD before it even tries the HDD.

Ok, got it fixed for sure this time! Brand new dashboard! Since I have to remod it, from scratch, I'll try UXE. Are there any good tutorials on making the UXE softmod?

Turns out the package for UXE came with a tutorial, so I followed that and it worked fine. So, I am back in business running Unleash X on a UXE softmod now. This entire ordeal has been pretty ridiculous and tiresome, but I learned a HELL of a lot in the process. So thanks to everyone who helped me get back.
