Auto Fan Speed Step Up. Does It Still Run After

If UX is not running, it has no way of adjusting the fan speed. Once you launch another app/game, UX is unloaded from memory. Therefore, unless that app/game changes the fan speed, it will stay the same.

Darn! That's what I thought, only one .xbe at a time.   I wish there was someway to have this!  b/c I reallly like the function but, my xbox gets hot while running xbmc and games and not so hot while in UX.

EDIT:

Since fan speed is by default controlled by the bios.  Could auto-step up ever be included in a bios?  Or is this impossible?  I should prob ask this in the bios forum, but UX is the only one have implemented this auto-increase/decrease.

Edit: And you can set a fixed fan speed by customising your bios in Xbtool. This is the other option.

MXM users can make an _AutoExec that will set the fan speed automatically every boot.

just want to make DJLink knows he doesn't have to edit his bios to set a fixed fanspeed.  you can set a fixed speed from the UX settings menu.  that speed will be persistent until a power off/on.  the speed will then be reloaded whenever UX is launched and will be persistent again.  no need for editing/ftp-ing bios or script files.

UnleashX has no way of adjusting the fan speed during game play, since it is no longer resident in memory.. how ever.. some if not all games may have built in fan speed adjustment (this would not surprise me at all).

Is this another ASSUMPTION, or do you have proof? - sorry, just winding you up as we horrible Europeans say!  wink.gif  wink.gif  wink.gif
I hope you have a sense of irony tongue.gif

It wasn't an assumption at all... obviously you are targetting me now by bringing stuff from another thread in another forum into the UnleashX forum... and besides being stupid.. that is just wrong... I'll let the MODS of this forum judge weather or not your retarded post was justified to be in the UnleashX forum...

EDIT: show at least a twinkle of maturity and keep your shit in forum where it belongs...

Who cares about MXM, this is the UnleashX area.  We can set UnleashX to always run at a certain speed to.  Just change the fan speed setting away from 1x.  Now that it has been hot here I have mine set to 4x all the time, sure it is noisy this way, but keeps the Xbox under 130d f most of the time.
