Sorry if this has been posted already - I did search but couldn't find anything.  How do you create xpr fonts for use in a unleash x skin im doing?

You need a special program that converts TTF fonts to XPR font, the problem is that file is part of the MS XDK.  It is called font builder and you can see if you can find it in the normal places, IE XBins.

FontBundle

Look for it under MXM's tools in Xbins.

It's really a two step process, which is tied together using a small GUI.

I have used FontBundle to make a few different fonts, but none of them show up in my skin.  Am I doing something wrong?  I am using FontBundle just like it says in the readme.  Normally I would not bother you fine folks but I cannot find any info on this.

When I use the font I have made in my skins, any text that uses that font does not appear on the screen.  If the default font appeared then I could assume that the skin was not finding the font (i.e. I had mistyped the font name in the xml, or something like that), but that is not what happens.  If I use an xpr font that I got elsewhere (Xbox_Book_11.xpr) the text shows up, but if I use any fonts I have built with FontBundle nothing shows.  I can use Xbox_Book_11 for the Menu Text and my own font for the InfoText, and in that case the menu shows but the info does not.  Very strange.  I hope I have explained the situation clearly. Thanks for any help.

I checked the .tga file and I can read the letters clearly.  They appear as white text on a black background.

This is quite a weird problem.

I wish this font making thing would work for me.  I have all these nice skins I have made, but the fonts look the same in all of them. sad.gif

I also have the same problem with fonts i make.......they dont show in my skins but i can see the font in unleashx´s file manager.

does anyone have any ideas of what could be wrong?

Do you have the fonts being used in the XML code?

For example, the info text should have a line like this:
<InfoFont>fontname.xpr</InfoFont>

For the menu it should be (somewhere in the menu area)
<Font>fontname.xpr</Font>

I know that I used the proper tags because if I neglected to put the font tag in the skin.xml, the default font(s) would appear.  In this case, however, any text that uses my custom font does not appear on screen.  It's quite a mystery.

This may be an obvious one but you do have the font file(s) in the same folder (at root level in it) as your skin, right?
