You have a point there, and good suggestion too. Although I wrote "Intro movies" there, I was actually thinking and referring to preview videos, silly me.

But I was thinking people would create movies showing something else, instead of the dash's name.

Alright, so today i found a great skin that i liked for Unleash X and decided i wuz going to make a loading vid for it and put this as my default dashboard..... well, i am done with it all and so i will put the link up here for the zip file if anyone wants to check it out....   Here is a pic of my xbox just to let you know why i went with the skin that i did...... FYI - the skin was not made by me, just the opening vid.

I most be some kind of fool or something.
I cant get the damn wmx8 codec to install.
It says it intalls but i cant find it in my Stoik.
I tried the Wmv9codec (from M$ http://www.MS.com/wi...ecdownload.aspx
) package which claims to install wmv7,8,9.
And i tried a wmv8 codec only (from M$ http://www.M$.com/downloads/details...&displaylang=en ) too.
NO LUCK!
What am i doing wrong?

I have yet to see a professional intro for this dashboard. So far I've seen just rip offs and horrible amateur effects!

If an xbox game is inserted into a dvd player, then this video will play. I thought it looked pretty cool. I don't have a good server, so I'm just putting it up on geocities- sorry. It is an intro movie, not a preview.

inside the "windows media components" directory, or wherever you installed wmv9 encoder, you will see WMProEdt.exe in the encoder directory.  Use this to specify the codecs and bitrates to use.  Once you have it set, save it and copy to your stoik directory... or simply scroll down the list in stoik until you find the option to "browse for more profiles" and go to the saved profile you just created.

I used 3DSMax to build the mesh, and Premiere to overlay the sounds. I've got a higher bitrate version here, and I may play about with the compression to fine tune the picture.

All feedback welcome. It sure feels good to give back to the scene, even if its only movies
