How about shoutcast, or the ability to play mp3’s off of a windows network share.

For that.. you can use XBOX MEDIA PLAYER
or
XBOX MEDIA CENTER...
which can both be run as your dashboard, BTW...

Nothing wrong with implementing these features...
but it would be a hell of a lot of work for unleashx to
do so... and I have a feeling that a lot of people
would have trouble with them (more because
of their own mistakes) and blam the dashboard...

I'm sure it has bee suggested elsewhere but I would like to see a file explored implemented.  One with a nice dropdown menu like with UX.  It is much more convenient to swap cache files in halo with an in-dash explorer rather than having to boot to boxplorer.

A simple screen saver that just flips jpgs from a custom folder in custom interval would be nice.

What would be a really nice feature, but is probably more suited to XBMC (already posted there but no reply), would be the ability to rip audio CDs and encode into MP3s all in 1 process.  Same with DVDs to AVI.
Don't know how hard this would be cause i'm not a programmer, but that combined with being able to backup games straight from UnleashX without the need for other progs would be way cool.

I dont know if that will happen..

Can you put a program on there that will convert wma to mp3?

*SideNote*: First it would have to play .mp3s

Errrr...uh...feeling really dumb right about now.  WTF was I thinking???? huh.gif   I swear I thought I posted this in an MXM thread.  Hey, at least it shows which dash is my primary dash...if you read that deep into it.  wink.gif

Since this dash came out with it's first release I had all but forgotten that I also had MXM on my xbox.  I flopped my default settings on x-select to point to UX and all was happy in the world.

And UnleashX, that was a great interview.  A real treat to read.

As for feature requests, I'd love to have a random skin feature.  There are so many great skins out there and I'd like the surprise of not knowing which one I'll boot with.

yourwishismine--

extensively stupid??  how can convenience be stupid?
for those of us who have more CDs than MP3s/WMAs, this idea seems perfectly logical. I mean, why go through the painstaking process of doing all that shit on the computer, when it can easily be done in 1 step on the box. provided someone can be bothered making the prog.

As for the WMA/MP3 thing.  Whatever.  I didn't even know the difference between them, except for the extension.
I'm sure support for both would be ideal.

Anyways,  it was just an idea...

Sorry.. I meant to edit out that extensively stupid part.. it was supposed to say extensively silly (I was tired when I wrote it)...

Anyway... it came off harse...

I apologize for that..

Anyway.. basically.. since the MS Dashboard rips to WMA,

it makes since that the dashboard would support WMA and perhaps MP3

if the author of the dashboard decided to support MP3.

For my purposes... WMA works much better... for others, perhaps

MP3 is better... anyway.. it already support WMA so it's not necessary

for it to support MP3... we should just be happy that unleashx was gracious

enough to give us a wonderfull dashboard...
