Thanks for the support BDILLA. I am sure your other 2 posts were equally as useful to the community. For me personally my inspiration came from knowing I could help replace the 3d models that made up the dash. Had nothing to do with praise and support. More for seeing of if it could be done, it can.. get the tools and you can do it too. I am sure most of the people who made moding the M$ dash possible did it for the same reason. To see if it could be done. People simply dont spend all that time just for praise. More for self learning. So you see why people say they dont care if everyone gets it. If they have learned something along the way, it was worth it. Had you really been following the forums like you say, you would know this, you would also know that a few spoiled it for the many, with a view of making unfinished things public. You would of also seen it go from people genrally interested in what can be done to people who are simply happy to pass comment much like yourself.

Well, tough shit, because whether you want it or not you get my praise and support   anyway, i too, noticed the rooms been a little quiet, but i'm sure things will come around, in the meantime i suppose, i'll just play some old outdated games and wait for my POS pc's dvd burner to come in the mail...

I agree BDILLA.  It was a dash that had a lot of promise and looked like something spectacular would come of it.  But after years and years.....whats the point?  It will come out one day through a leak, it will be a crappy beta build, and about 3 people will be clapping.  Yay.



Looks like the steering wheel was handed to some kids and then shit totally fell apart.  It was about the same time that all the bickering started with all of the spinoffs. (blackstormX, the french version whatever it was called, and all the others).



I just wish it was Jbone and Gcue at the helm again.  




To be honest with XBMC all others have been left in the dust.  Its THE dashboard and supported by about the only proffesional "team" left.

As of right now, no, my full attention isn't in uix, or even anything on my pc. Poor you huh? and don't take this note as a "everyone's waiting on me" p.o.v. either. JbOnE still owns UIX. It seems all we get is haters. Which is to be expected. I mean we're the most hated on dash out there. The only other bootlegged dash out there is Evox. Unless you want to call a bootlegged bootleg of tHc a new dash....

So every few weeks I, and other members come on to smack people like Heet back to reality. You're not going to be able to stick a slice of bread into the D drive and get toast out of it. JbOnE hasn't added that function to the xbe yet... sorry. We're a few guys with a fucking hobby! and on top of that, most of us have more then one. I, myself, am making a game. Acid (aka PID) has a little hobby named family life. J has a hobby he calls 360. Mattie has a hobby he refers to as his girlfriend. On and on.

The only thing I disliked about the dash is the fact that I would have to use a menu that looked like the savegame menu to launch my games. The commy build modified that a bit though, but still I would prefer the original xdn or thc lite menus....they were configurable in style.

Do you remember the "config mode" in the thc dash? You could see how everything looked before you saved all changes. That was pretty slick. Personally, the only good change in XDN or UIX is the skin's config file for colors and materials. Everything else has only gotten worse (less styles, security passcodes, submenu limits, a whole lot).

Hell, instead of whining, i'd rather offer to see if there was a way I could help. Call me a hopeful bastard, but I'm still patiently waiting.. and dear god.. what the hell is wrong with half of the people in this thread? Seems like everyone's bitching about the same thing again and again and again...

UIX v2 will probably come out eventually, but the more people gripe and moan about it, the less enthusiastic the team is going to be about getting it finished. Shit, the last five pages (at LEAST) are undoubtably something discouraging to read.

Besides that, there's one other reason for delay. If things arn't right at home, time is going to be spent to fix it. I promised a 4 way TSOP tutorial to my comrades at Llamma, but when you fuck up your relationships with your friends in the... *ahem*... EXISTANT real world,... hatred, guilt, and temporary pain will be what will consume you. That is merely one example of how things could be going bad... and no, I haven't fixed anything yet. I still somewhat have my two closest friends intact, but it's almost like I don't know them as well... and if you, the reader, still have not figured out where I'm going with this, the internet isn't a seperate existance from life. Internet is something availible IN life. Anybody who shows signs of human intellegence on the internet is a real person who deals with typical life-related issues.....

...despite what many think, we're not all here to bend over, lick your ass, or wash your feet.

Anyway, cheers to the UIX team. You guys have done an excellent job so far, and I imagine still are. You guys deserve respect for what you've made.
