here's something to try guys :-

load the blue version to your xbox,
add the background image from spacedash skin in the usual way,
replace xboxdash.xbe on the f drive with the one from the red version,
resign the xbe,
reboot.

it looks even better !!!!

also anyone wanting a 3 menu option version ( in the main menu ) its easy just delete the 'xodash' folder from the c drive and then the 3rd menu option will disappear !

Is there anyway to use the tHc dash and not have to boot off F? I mean I can use the dash, but what I mean is my games do not display and a guy told me it was because I was not booting off the F drive. Any help. I want to use the config.ini with tHc

IS THERE ANY WHERE ELSE FOR THE DOWNLOAD BECAUSE ON #XBOXDASH it wont let you download unless you have a min speed of 5k a second. Is there a reason 4 this? and are there any other links?

brucett - this is the only place at the mo.

the reason for a min 5k is so that a load of narrowbanders don't choke up the channel

you could always re-request the file again as it does support file resume , just keep going until it is finished

Just used a hex editor on the x-select xbe to change the text it displays under the xbox logo when it boots to ' X-Box Next ' , looks much better !!!

QUOTE
you must install it as released , i.e. the xboxdash.xbe must be on f and the xbe you are told to put on c dive must be the one that is booted by your bios. you can rename the xbe that is put on c drive but change nothing else except that and any config.ini changes

Ok, I am glad you cleared this up, I was under the impression that your bios had to be able to boot off F? But from what you are saying, as long as your bios boots the file you were told to put on the C partition, and that file exist on F, you should be fine?

Ya  i got autofill working perfect too.  I opened xbtool and reminded myself that i named the first bootable bios something other than i was calling xselect in C   rolleyes.gif  I took my smart pill and EVERYTHING works perfectly.   I havent played a single game today because of this dash heh.

So do I have to boot the M$ Dash as my primary dash to get auto fill to work? Im not really game for this since if there is a problem I would not be able to get from the M$ Dash to evo. And the M$ doesnt have ftp so I would be nearly locked out. I would have to use the evox disk by that is really random as my drive reads it so infrequently.

gluping:

you must also edit the config.ini file for the dash to work. either do it by hand or use the easy configmaker 1.1. that is most likely the reason you are getting no text in the menus

that and it's probably just not working with the pbl - i know some ppl have figured out ways to do suppsedly do it - but these mods are neither made on or intended to be run on anything but a chipped/flashed box.

Hmm, i was suspicious when you said that so i went and tried it.  Not only does it work, but you can launch it when you want, no auto launch.  Just click down your right thumbstick and pick yes.  This is how I always wanted it to launch movies.
