Changing System Info In Ms Dash
« on: September 16, 2003, 01:32:00 AM »

I'm wanting to change the message displayed when you click settings>sys-info.  (where it displays version # etc...) I want to change it to say my name or something along those lines.  I found the correct part to edit in the xboxdash.xbe file.  My question is, when I edit that and sign on to XBlive, will MS be able to detect an edited dash and ban me?  Or am I worried about nothing?

MS will be able to detect it, but I'm not sure if they'll ban you.

1 - the change is done in default.xip/settings3.xap, NOT in the xbe.

2 - if you sign on to live with an edited anything you're just about an idiot, cuz in order to run an edited anything you need to have a MOCHIP ON !!
