koldfusion, ok, i uploaded the latest version with the corrections made to the layouts as well as a screensaver to xbox-skins.net, if you could pull it over to allxboxskins.

the screensaver shows a HUGE xbox character, 1/4 of the screen in size, larger than life, floating around the screen, jumping, tapping his foot, looking around, etc.

For the emulators you could have the xbox guy "morph" into different platforms.
For example he could mold into a semi liquid ball then mold back out into an N64, then mold back to an xbox, then mold into a nes. I think that would be cool. (Although I have no Idea how much work is involved in doing that  wink.gif )

The morphing sounds cool.  

How about a cameo appearance by Ben Jeremy - I could have the xbox guy put on a green Luigi cap, then put on a Luigi mask, like he's "disguised" as Nintendo?

The TIVO remote thing is definitely going to happen (I'm biased)... the only thing is that he doesn't have any arms/hands... DOH.  I could use his feet... or I could give him arms for the preview animation (i'm sure nobody would think about it)

As for the screensaver, the problem is I can't switch WMV's when the "bounce" modifier hits the edge of a screen.  So if he was swimming or flying, he would be swimming in one direction the whole time... maybe I should do that anyway.

Maybe the other option is to make a 640x480 vid with the little guy swimming around in those contraints instead (minus the overscan of course). This would eleminate the need for a the bounce modifier all together.

For the Tivo remote, how about an oversized tivo peanut where the xbox guy hop scotches over to the play button. LOL

For the Games vid, how about the XBOX guy walks into a room where he's surrounded by hundred and hundred of xbox game cases all lined up on shelves or the wall as you pan out to see the whole game collection list.

Sorry for all the stupid sounding requests. But I just love Tivo and this skin!

The costume thing sounds hillarious. It'd be funny if he whipped out a mario hat and a moustache and put them on, then put them away and whipped out maybe something that looks like samus's (metroid) arm and pointed it at the screen, then put that away then maybe put on a green hat like Link and whipped out a sword (these are all nintendo characters, I cant think of any overly famous characters for any other system right now, maybe something to do with crash bandicoot, or pokemon, I dont know, just throwin stuff out there, I still think the morph thing would be wicked, but the costumes would be hillarious) beerchug.gif

The Tivo remote thing sounds awesome as well, really solid Idea. Does it take long to whip these things up (from what youve posted about yourself it sounds like your more than capable, plus have all the tools)?

With the costume or morph idea- Whenever he changes costume (or morphs to the next system) you could have a video behind him that changes when he does (eg. When he puts on the mario costume the video behind him plays a clip from supermario 64, when he turns into crash bandicoot the video switches to a clip from crash...) Kinda like changing channels on a TV , huh huh...yeah...

God, k, heres another. Following the idea above in the edit, for each preview vid (ms dash, games , media , whatever...) you could have a remote where a channel button is visibly being pushed down ( by something invisible) and everytime it gets pushed down the screen could have tv fuzz then go to the next video--so again with the emulators vid, youd see the remote and everytime the channel button gets pushed down (which would just be an animation, not something the user actually does) the preview vid screen goes fuzzy for a split second and goes to the next costume change(with the respective character video behind the xbox guy). Like channel surfing...

Sorry if this is confusing at all, just trying to spit it out before I forget...Plus again, I have no Idea whatsoever how hard it is to make these... beerchug.gif

Hmmm.... maybe, when I get achance, I could have an option on the bounce modifier to mirror vertically and/or horizontally an image, depending on "direction"? That might not be too hard to do.

ok, let's try posting this again!

you guys have really cool ideas...  i love the hopskotch idea.  i also love the mario moustache, metroid, and zelda thing!  too cool!

OK - here's what I've settled on based on FourDoor's and neverwill's ideas:

EMULATORS - MXM guy pulls out a mustache and mario hat and puts them on then "jumps" into a SMB game, replacing Mario, and jumping and squashing bad guys, etc.  Then he jumps out of the game, puts the mustache and mario hat away, pulls out the Metroid gun, then jumps into a Metroid game, etc...

MEDIA/MOVIES - MXM guy hopskotching across a giant TIVO Peanut remote and jumping on the PLAY button

GAMES - MXM guy standing with nothing but white in the background, then two huge shelves of games come rushing in on each side of the MXM guy ala The Matrix style.


APPS - ??


SCREENSAVER - OK, I might be biting off more than I can chew here, but here goes.  When the screensaver kicks in, the current screen turns sideways (like it does in the beginning of the Intro when it covers up the MS Dash), to show a "BenJeremy"-esque MXM guy with a green Luigi hat and a wrench, "tweaking" MXM behind the scenes...

What do you guys think?

ps - BenJeremy, the bounce modifier flip option sounds simple and elegant - and it would work perfectly for the swimming character... too cool.

I would love to see those animations implemented... They seem too hard to do and don't they take long?.. Maybe not though, cuz u seem like a pro with 3dsmax..  For apps, how about he picks up a controller (or steps on the button) looks at a his tv, but nothing pops up, so he tries to fix the gears in the back, but gets shocked... Maybe not though, that just popped into my head.

^^^^ Diddo. Ive only been around since october , but I have to say this past little while has been churning out some of the greatest work(Flex, Love your skins), wicked work man-this tivo idea is top notch, it looks and feels really professional. Hopefully youll be able to work on some stuff for the next release of mxm (which is shaping up to blow everything away, good work BJ).
