Ok, I lost some of my work files from the past and kinda stopped making skins for a while, anyway, I've decided to make skins again, yay.  Anyway, This is the background for a new skin I'm making.  Just finished rendering it, it took more than 24 hours to render And Im very pleased with the results so far.  Anyway, Here's the background video. Its a 22 second long perfectly looping video that I made fyi.

BACKGROUND WMV

questions/comments appreciated.

Impressive!

Using Maya to make this?

I just downloaded Blender (2.5 megs, and free!).  And I've seen some pretty crazy stuff made with blender too.  Anyone tried it?

yes, this was done in maya, but It is actually quite the simple piece of 3d animation, just a lot of tweaking going on with that light and it took so long to render because of some uber AA settings I turned on as well as 3d motion blur, but the added quality is lost with compression, and frankly, Im not going to be using the 700 mb uncompressed video inspite of how much better it looks.

Again, good job on the background video, but I don't think the proposed layout does the skin justice.

Maybe texturing or bump-mapping the foreground boxes will help.

I agree, with that background, your skin has great potential. I don't feel that layout is fulfilling it. Keep it up though...

I also agree....great background but the layout just isn't good enough for such a good background.
