How Do You Use Custom Fonts?
« on: November 06, 2003, 05:48:00 PM »

I have a bunch of skins I have made, that are starting to look pretty cool, but I need to put some custom fonts into them, because the default font is very boring.

So.....How do I use my own fonts? I have a bunch in my font folder in my control panel, that I want to use, but Im not quite sure what I need to do to implement them. If anyone could help, it would be greatly appreciated.

I remember that you had said something about that in a past thread. I looked in "the usual places" and I couldnt find anything about a font package, or font bundler or anything. Could you PM me some specifics, or post some details.

When on xbins go to the apps< dash<mxm section you'll see a folder with dash applications or something there. THat's where the font bundler is at. As long as the .ttf is installed in windows this will make you a nice .xpr . Keep in mind these .xpr's aren't scaleable like ttf's you'll have to make a different font size .xpr for every different size you want to use.

alright, I got the font bundle.
now how do I use this thing? The readme is VERY short, and there is nearly no info on how to use it. Could someone explain to me in a newbish fashion how I would go about using the 2 applications that came with this font bundler.....

Run fontbundle.exe.
Click the FontMaker button, that brings up a new window.

Click File/new font, and select the font and size.

Then save the font files.

Exit fontmaker

Click "Load" in the FontBundle window.

And look for a tga file named whatever your font is called.

Then click build, and look for a .xpr in the same directory.

That's your font.
