In fact, it might be possible for me to apply videos AS the alpha mask, too.

I've been thinking about transparency and have just realised what this would mean. I'd be excited beyond measure if it worked out - any news BJ?

At the moment, it's low priority.... but keep in mind, the new "ZPoints" allow you to define a shape and map images to it.

Haven't used paintshop pro, but:

In photoshop

The "background" layer is generally opaque.  So delete that layer (duplicate it if it has content on it).  Then select and delete any parts of the image you want to be transparent.

Transparency in photoshop shows up as a grey checkerboard.

When saving, use File/Save for Web , and select PNG-24 with "Transparency" box checked.

Then import that into skinner and it should work.

---

Paintshop pro should have something similar.  Remember to save as PNG.

paint shop pro will not save the png file correctly (not with transparency).  You will need to use some other graphics program like photoshop or macromedia fireworks.

Yes, it does. I've been using 7.04 for the longest time and it transparency works as advertised. No problem at all, as far as PNG is concerned.

Works fine for me also.

Plus you get nice alpha channel effects....

I'm still looking for the magic shader code that will allow me to use a grayscale image independently as an alpha mask for an image element.

Yes, it should be applicable to videos.

In fact, it might be possible for me to apply videos AS the alpha mask, too.
