All xml files should pass the "IE Test" - while MXM is somewhat more tolerant than IE, you may be missing something significant if MXM glosses over a critical error.

A major difference between IE and MXM is that IE wants all attributes to be in quotes e.g. <LayoutElement type="image"> ; MXM works without the quotes e.g. <LayoutElement type=image>

A very little program I made a while ago to fix these sort of errors:
Paste the xml and click fix.

MXM itself is actually quite flexible, allowing quoteless attributes and is case insensitive.

However, IE and MXM Skinner are more picky about those things.

That is a fab little program, still getting the errors though, the ending tag starts lower case, whilst the initialization tag begins capitalized.  Just a small quirk I'm sure, but is mxm skin that picky?

Much obliged for that handy program

IT's not that picky, as I've said.. it can be very forgiving, but it's always best to make sure the XML conforms to a "spot check" in IE, just to see that nothing is missing.
