Not all too complicated.  Just grab your favorite wallpaper and play around with the menu and text attributes to start with.  You can always do video, overlays and such later on once you get the hang of it.

Use some of the other skins  skin.xml as example to go by...and read the doc to learn different ways to do thing with each element.

I am havin a play as we speak, I have loaded into IE6 and get no errors, is there a program I can use to view what the skin will look like (IE6 only shows the code).
