Skin Release: Securityx 1.0
« Reply #45 on: July 28, 2003, 12:42:00 AM »

Just downloaded the latest version and-

Text areas (dunno what they are called) aren't blended again, like the 1st version.
No pics showing in that circle.

I'm getting the now loading... screen now.

I think some of the fixes you can't notice unless your using the WIP version 0.9n.4 of MXM.  Cuz it was MXM itself that had problems with that.  But, after I get off my lazy ass and test the new binaries, with this skin, I'll get back to ya on that.

I just grabbed 1.2 off axs and also got no images in the circle, but jumping into the config menu and back again sorts it out.  So, if you cant wait till .4 for this great skin, do that.
Im running 0.9n3.

Yeah the text problems will be fixed in the next release and I think that the hard to read color really depends on your TV. If you play with the brightness settings int ends to look better. I have no problem reading the text on my TV at all.

Yeah, that is highlight problem that will be fixed in the next MXM release that I talked about. That MXM release should come today and it fixes everything, so wait until then.

Cool.... DDS Photoshop Plugin works GREAT!

user posted image

Alpha channeled overlay on the thumbnail!! Just a rough job. You can name the DDS file with BMP or PNG... the image libraries don't look at the extension.

This is a REAL SKIN TEST, not a photoshop job.

awesome.  Im going to have to experiment a little.  I think my plugin is broken.

Yeah, I started with the overlay png file, and simply painted on using a low opacity. When doing a "Save As" I selected the DDS, and played witht he settings until I got it right.

Save Format: "8:8:8:8 ARGB (32-bit)"
No MIP Maps

Above the nVidia logo, select the "Image (No MIP Maps) radio button.

You can test the image in a 3-D planar preview. Just deselect everything but 32-bit ARGB, pick a background image and "Use Image" checkbox, of course. This will let you do a sanity check on the alpha channel.

I'll start messing around with this alpha stuff, and hopefully release a new MS-MXM skin the way I really wanted it to look.
