Well I've been considering doing an app like my XBMP Configer for MXM, MXM Configer. But unfortunatly my pc is out of order now and my moms is picky when it comes to installing stuff, not to mention it only has 64MB of RAM. And I already tried to add the Ram from my pc but they're incompatable or something. I may try removing her HD and RAM and putting my HD and RAM in and doing a clean install. If all goes well then I start working on it.

I'm not sure if this is such a good idea..
I mean, MXM is all about looks, and afaik there isn't a single good-looking Evo-X skin.  rolleyes.gif

Well, static skins can be boring, to some degree, but a translated Evo-X skin can be used as a basis for an even nicer skin.... and it will also demonstrate to Evo-X skinners the basic concepts and how easy it really is (and how powerful) - perhaps spurring them to make the jump into a REAL skinnable dashboard. wink.gif

The only down side to converting them some are gonna look like crap no matter what. I say this cause some skins wouldn't look right when the preview screen is just thrown onto it. It may work with some but not all.

Well, he said that the preview window would be an option not a necessity.

there are quite a few skins i was impressed with. Not the movie wallpaper ones bu the ones where the designers took the time to create a static gui.

Yea, it wouldnt be good for all skins, but it would be good for quite a few...if only to help spark more interest.  I think MXM has grown a lot as a community in the last month or two simply by the sheer number of "how do i" forum posts.

A lot of times, programmers wont start a project until somone else puts out an app...   thier thinking is 'I can do better'.. that when we will get multiple choice and easier skin creation.

It's got my vote.   Do I get a vote? screw it then.. I'll bribe the officials.  ph34r.gif

--late thought.. just adding this into an MXM skinning app would be the ideal solution..instead of a seperate app to convert Evox to MXM.

biggrin.gif . Anyway, I sat down today and within a few minutes came up with a quick feasibility project of what you proposed. I now know I can do it, I just need to sit down and make it look/work good. Anyway, I'll start work on this later today.

As for the addition of something like this into a skinning program... well, once this is done, it will basically be a skinning program. If people want to use it as a WYSIWYG point and click MXM skin creator or an EvoX to MXM creator, it's up to them, it could very well be used as both. Thats all for now, I'll keep you all appraised of progress (I assume that no one else has stepped up to this, if I'm wrong please stop me now, before I spend time on someone elses work).
