Skin Request: Oxm #21
« on: July 14, 2003, 02:04:00 PM »

I was wondering if anyone was interested in converting the #21 issue of OXM demo to a MXM skin. The menu seems pretty easy to rip, just need someone who would know how to convert it to work in MXM. It already has a media folder with the font.xpr and all other resources. Please if anyone is interested I will send you the media. The menu would easily be one the best skins ever created for an Xbox app.

It's pretty amazing, the menu transitions are awesome.

I was looking through it as well.  I couldn't find out what program is needed to edit/preview the menu.jmx file.  I think that is the background.  Can someone help with this?

the menu.jmx seems to be a compiled menu.txt..  But I'm not really qualified to say so (no real experience with this shit)..

I don't think it would be very easy to do since the menu "floats around" every transition would be off synch unless you hit the button at just the right time. Plus is it possible to make 3d text in mxm? Then ANIMATE them to move in synch with the video?! Sounds like a really big project and might not be possible to do it the right way.

Where is the actual video located, video is not usually xpr based but resource.xpr seems to be the only thing big enough to hold video.

I've been looking into something like this . The prob. I'm having is not being able to 'float' multible images/video not to mention a 'floatable preview vids'.
I know that If this was possible I'd be on it . Also the lack of introducing scoll text on the previews is going to be a tough one .
What I'll do is I'll capture the dash with a quik go through and post it . Maybe we could figure this out  wink.gif  biggrin.gif  .
I do agree though , this would be one hella dash . With a little modification of course  beerchug.gif  wink.gif

It *might* be possible to 'bounce' an image around in the background, and have the actual menu PNG over it.. Can MXM do semi-transparent images now?

Actually, semi-transparent SHOULD be possible with DDS images (name them as BMP)

Well, the floating thing, no... not YET at least, as that's 3-D.

I plan on supporting targeting your layout elements to textures of 3-D objects, though, so it will be possible in the future (of course, you'll have a lot more flexibility in 3-D, to, with MXM)

I'll give it a shot, unless anyone else wants to go for it.

GO FOR IT  beerchug.gif  It will be nice to see how far we all can go /w MXM . I'm revamping 'Blister' with a couple of extras goodies for the next release of MXM . Should turn out to be pretty cool . It's going a little slow though  sad.gif .

YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSS...........I CAN"T WAIT ...................If you can notice I don't have live (56k woes:( )
