When saving a PNG you need to save it with the alpha..

That's the whole problem: I've never worked with the alpha-channel, and the help-file in the program (and Ulead's site) don't give much info about it...

Yea, like 3 seconds after I posted that, I relized it's really not all that helpful, lol..

Um, what is it that you have in png and want transperancy?  You also might need to "Export Transperant Image" if there is an option like that somewhere (in Photoshop, it's in the help menu I beleive)

I don't know, Photoshop might seem a little intimidating, but after using it for a short while, you'll feel real comfortable with it..

There is some funkiness with the transparency that I've not fully reconciled in MXM. It has to do with the scene fade-ins.

Yeah, I've experienced this using transparent folder icons for Devoid Skin.  I used to display the icon on the main preview area, but it would flash completely white during a fade in.  Only for a split second, but enough to make it noticeable and make me remove it from the preview.  On the Devoid release, I let the smaller folder icons stay near the menu, and they flash somewhat on a fade in, but not by much.
