I did.

FontBundle

Build your own "XPR" Fonts for MXM and other homebrew Xbox Applications!

Requires FontMaker.exe and Bundler.exe in the path.

How to use?

Run FontBundle and use it to launch the FontMaker utility.

Select your font and save off the TGA and ABC files to a directory.

Once that's done, "Load" the TGA file (will also bring in the ABC file).

Now "Build"

The resulting XPR file will be a Packed Resource file usable as a font in XDK-built applications
that use them.

Everytime I try to make one, why I try to use it all that comes up is junk (meaning mostly black areas and some white pixelation crap.)

Well the Documentation doesn't go into much detail so here are a few tips smile.gif

Fist of all if you want to use a font you just downloaded, you must install it to your windows fonts first , so it will show up in the list of available fonts

Open up Fontbundler and press the FOntmaker Button

Go to     File  >> New Font

Select the font and size you want and press OK

(I like to make the size of the font just big enough so the letters will fill up the blue square,  so if you see that the font is to big or too small adjust the size by following the above step again)

Nos just go to  File >> save Font Files     and it save the 2 required files  *.abc and the *.tga

Close the Fontmaker and press the load button on the FontBundler

Find the *.tga file you just saved and  open it  (if it tells you that it nees to rename it because it does not suppot spaces just press OK)

Now Press BUILD and it will make the *.xpr file you need Now your all set to add it to MXM for your skin

Hpe it helps

It's still not working. dry.gif

I did like you said and like the readme says but still I'm having no luck

Maybe I missing something here, like do I need to change any of the options
CODE

Outlined -Unchecked
Shadowed -Unchecked
Use NTSC safe colors -Unchecked

Texture Properties
Width-256 Height-256

Glyphs
from range 32 to 127

This is pissing me off.

Stupid Mofo. It's refusing to work. I think it doesn't like me very much.

When I do the save part these are the files I get.
BlueStone_18.abc
BlueStone_18.tga

Then after the Build part I get these.
BlueStone_18.h
BlueStone_18.rdf
BlueStone_18.xpr

Are you spose to end up with the 3 files after the build even though you only use the xpr?
Also, I've tried using like 10 different fonts to. And the download shouldn't be curropt (from the usual place) cause it's works fine for everyother app I get. PC or XBOX.

Hmm I only get the xpr. not the .rdf and the .h.
Have you tried using Arial or some usual fonts? Try a truetypefont.

BTW Paste the commandline you are using to display the font... Or is it weird in the bluebox when you create it aswell?

I've tried several fonts(ones that are already part of some skins, like arial) It looks fine in the blue box.
These are the only instances of the font in the skinXML.

<Resource Type="Font" Name="BlueStone">
 <File>FontsBlueStone_18.xpr</File>

<Primary Source="Title">
 <Font>BlueStone</Font>

But what about the other two files created after a build. How do I remedy this? That sounds like it could be the answer.

Which version of MXM are you running?

FontBundler uses the newer tools, it generates fonts only usable by the newer versions of MXM.

What does the resulting TGA look like?

Generatingthe extra files is fine. I believe there wre issues if I didn't let it generate the header file. The ABC and TGA files are generated by FontMaker, the RDF is generated by FontBundle, which calls the XDK Bundler to generate the XPR (and also generates the H).

This is a version "5" font. Newer versions of MXM can handle both the "5" and "4" version fonts.

I use ACDSee. Photoshop or PhotoPaint should be able to view it as well.

Ok, I just tried that. It looks like crap. (sort of black and white pixelation) I also tried looking at the tga file from the new pxHDD loader and it came up fine.
