This version is slightly modified from the one that will be eventually included with MXM,  its designed to work with older versions of MXM as well.

Thanks for the suggestion. It's been updated so it works for everyone now, regardless of version.

BenJeremy, the only change I made was removing the :: for the resources, so that's all you'll have to add back to integrate into the xbe.

Looks good... I just integrated it into the internal config. I had to update my tool (rather than remember the damn settings for my tool, I just added a node to the XML it was converting to tell it the info to properly generate the C++ files).

Now it's getting easier for me to add data and XML goodies into the app itself.

I might have an update to the WIP tonight, after I touch a few more things. I added initialization screen messages in the Matrix-style intro. wink.gif The less patient will now have something to look at.

I've read the code, but in the xml there's this line: <NumItems>5</NumItems>, while in the actual menu the list (with the icons and game titles) gives 9 items instead? How come?

Hi Oswald,

Really great skin! Amazing that there aren't resources needed from within the skin! Excellent  biggrin.gif

I beleive this is because it has room for 9 (based on the actual menu item's height)..  Because, I'm working on a skin, and I kept getting 4 items, though I said only to have 1.  It works after resizing the menu to 50ish (forget actual number)..

I've found that you really can't rely on the <NumItems> tag.  I think it matters, but the number of items is also a function of the size you give the menu block and the size of the font.  So it's really a trial and error process.  But I recommend setting <NumItems> to the number you want, then size the menu to your liking, and finally pick the best sized font that reflects the number of items you want.

Select position tag seems a little flakey too.

I'm having the same problem as you have: I want to have 4 icons/titles listed in the menu, but I'm getting more (despite the <NumItems>  number). The size of the icons are nowhere to set, only the size of the total menu. And since the icons/titles are scalable, it shouldn't be a problem?

Can anyone shine a little light on this problem?

You need to change the size of the menu..  Check the <Pos *> tag in the <LayoutElement Type="Menu" Source="MXM"> tag..  Above is what I have of the Menu section of my skin, as an example.  Keep in mind, the height will change with how many items you want displayed, aswell as the font size you use..

Try experimenting with font size.  If you are getting more menu items than wanted, use a bigger font size.

Note: Thumbnail size is a function of font size.
