i've been asking some stupid questions today. to make up for it, i'm going to let you rip into my work. below are the two skins i've been making. one is the no-resource and the is the low-resource from that contest thread thingy. i figured i'd get some comments before posting them on AXS. sorry for the crappy pics, my TV and camer don't like eachother.

both skins are totally done barring any revisions. that includes the dialogue boxes (pressing Y) and screensaver.

Simplicity (no resource skin)

i was going for a really simple, clean feel for it. menu is a little small, but i had more room for system stats. there are two images in this even though it's no-resource. check out the sticky. they can easily be removed if BenJeremy sets up default images. see the shot below for a preview of the folder image.

Simplicity Ultra (low resource skin)

ultra simple, just like i like it. added a sound for folder changes and figured i had enough space to add a nice background to this one. i could have gotten it smaller (the bg is 81k), but i wanted to keep the detail in the pic.

seriously nice skin.  I think my favourite thing about the MXM (sub)scene is that everyone who uses it seems to want to contribute in some small way.  alot of people (myself included) started posting in here asking questions, now they're posting with the skins they've made, the videos they've converted, the help screens they've created.  I think it's ironic and funny that the one project that doesn't have a team working for it, but rather a single genius of a coder (that's right I'm talking about you BenJeremy) has more of it's users contributing than most projects (on a per user basis anyway).

I've floated off topic, seriously man, that skins kicks mucho booty.  Keep up the good work.   Keeping design sense high and resources and images low is no small feat, but you did it.

Maybe a suggestion for a later revision of this skin, I would think that Drive Space Free would be a more valuable statistic than Drive Space Total on your side menu, other than that, pure perfection.

mostly, so it can be included with MXM and still have a relatively small filesize, but maybe also for those compilations when you have no space left after all the games, I guess.

Look in the requestthread if some theme interests you. None of them interests me, maybe the extreme sports, but I have a few other skins to make first.

Back to topic. Looking really good. Haven't tried it yet, but looks good anyway....
