Xbox To Xbox Ftp Over Long Distance
« on: February 07, 2004, 07:23:00 AM »

I live in chicago, and I have a friend who lives in canada.I am trying to send him a bunch of stuff (movies, music...etc) from my xbox to his xbox, but it goes painfully slow. He uses MXM's ftp server, and I use XToolBox to connect to him. Once im connected, and start sending files, they transfer at 20/kbs. It seems as if 20 is the cap or something, because it NEVER gets past 20. It will hit exactly 20.000 kb a second, and not go over at all.

My question is, how do i fix this? Is this a setting I have somewhere or something? Are there any settings I need to tweak? Any help would be greatly appreciated

Edit: So wait a second.....Maybe the best way to go about this isnt for me to connect to him and upload....but for him to connect to me and download. That should go much faster shouldnt it?

It'd be faster just to burn a cd or dvd and mail it to him

thats exactly whats I was thinking.

Well, thanks again for the info guys, I appreciate it. If someone hadnt brought to my attention that it was just my connection, I would have kept pulling my hair out messing with my FTP settings. Atleast I know its out of my hands now.  dry.gif
