So I'm sitting here working on my first skin and I think to myself, you know what would be cool? What if all the preview stuff and help screens could be linked to menu items instead of an xbe file. The reason I thought of this is I was testing a fully compiled sample pic of my skin in XBMC to see how it looks on the TV without having to write the skin.xml file and I thought what I this was strictly an installer that obviously was only gonna be run from a disc. All the menus would be predefined.
So again I said to myself, self, what if we could do something like so somewhere in the xml file or a seperate file all together like install.xml;
<Format Drive>
<helpfile>formathelp.jpg</helpfile>
<media>formatmedia.jpg</media>
</Format Drive>
Something like that. The start and end tags would be the same as the menutext. This install.xml file could be checked when you go through the menu that way it know what to do for internal stuff based on what the menu text is.
Although I'm not really sure how stuff like the help screens work with internal things like format, eeprom, etc. I thought it was a great idea.
