Didn't work. :/

I also tried using obscure characters like é and ^, but I suppose if it's not in the font it replaces it with the auto-descr (company name) instead of a blank.

Thanks for trying, though. :>

Well, I'll add an option to completely disable the "auto-descr" when I get a chance to work on it (today's going to be busy for me)

Wouldn't an override in the MXM.xml be the answer?

He said he'd look into it later.

Give the guy some time! tongue.gif'

I don't think the files are there, anyway.
I just think the programs (Windows and WS_FTP) are showing them.

If you check with boXplorer you will see the files aren't really there.

I upgrade my MXM from 4 to 5 by replacing the default.xbe and now it hangs up at the Xbox/Xecuter screen. What exactly did I do wrong?

Thanks,
-Dman

Lemme guess: You have a large F: with a modified 4977 BIOS, right?

They don't like each other. I'm working on a fix this very minute.

Well, for "WIP" people, there's a binaries update:

  • Added experimental automatic G: fix
  • Failing that, there is not anMXM_Patcher option to force MXM not to init G:
  • SETFUNC::FILESIZE should now return directory size now.

I'd appreciate tests by users with big F: LBA48 BIOS patches and G: BIOS Patches to check "automatic"

What if I use Xecuter Bio 4978 with Xbtool and MXM .5?  Will that work?

    Thanks,
    -dman

I think it's any X2 BIOS modified with the LBA48 patch.

The latest "WIP" binary update should fix the problem, but I'm still a few weeks from a public release.

Ahhh... that's because it has the READ ONLY attributes set.

Navigate to the directory ABOVE the game in FlashFXP, then press Ctrl-R and type in the box:

    CODE

    ATTR rw

That should set all of the attributes to read-write and then you can delete.

I tested the latest "WIP" for the next release, and I think I've got the problem resolved, but I need testing, people!! Any "WIP" testers using large F:, please check the latest one out.

(Of course, use X-Selector or run as an app, to avoid headaches)

On my 30GB drive, the LBA48/Big F patched 4977 BIOS boots - but when I use MXM_Patcher on the executable, it hangs as previously described.

So the problem is when MXM tries to initialize G: on startup.

I have one more check to do - eliminating G: init when F: is not present.  These options only apply when MXM intializes.

An update on the FTP faux-file bug.

I tried to copy an entire game directory to my PC today and it kept giving me file errors.
I assume that it is creating a file in each directory, then trying to copy it only to find it is not really there.

I had to go back to .9n.4 to get it to work. ;>

    Also, I have 2 questions:

    1) I didn't notice an actionscript command to change skins. Is there one? I just made all of these skin screenshots to use with skin entries in the menu, and I didn't even think to look if there was a change skin action! Now it seems I made all of these screenshots for nothing. Is this true?

    2) I know this more depends on the BIOS (I'm using X2 4977), but what do I name my default.xbe so that it is picked up when I turn the XBOX on? Right now I'm using "nexgen.xbe," but I was wondering if there is something more MXM related.

    1) There will be a complte set of XML access functions in the next release. ActionScripts will be able to change any settings.

    2) It is BIOS dependent. I may develop some BIOS scanning tools to determine exactly what the dashboard names are for a given BIOS, but it isn't a straight-forward thing.
