I don't understand (also trying to get skins to show)

I have it's about choice skin on C, what do I need to do here?
what's the skinmap?

Do I creat a skins folder on C and chuck my skins in there?

i'm bloody lost sad.gif

Yup....   you've just answered your own question  tongue.gif

Just read my reply a few post before: just place mxm in the root of c:, make a folder called skins, just make a folder for each skin, and place those skins in its own folder....

Just place <SkinsPath>c:skins<skinspath>  between the <main>  and </main>  part of your mxm.xml document  (open with notepad or something)

Remember: this forum doesn't show the slash sign (but you need to add them when you edit your xml documents)

i'll give that a bash now, I don't use MXM.xml but I spose it's ok to use it just for this? no dramas?

i'm also testing the pal/ntsc thing, sometimes it's hard to tell what videomode you're in though... I think it'll be a good idea if I report my findings.

I don't understand why it's screwed though, I use Xselect so it must be that?

EDIT- dunno what's wrong with it, no splash screen or anything, can't boot CD-R, just a red flashing light. well my night is over biggrin.gif

??

MXM should always boot, it's got a safe mode if something locks up. Then you can try the different safe mode options to boot up, if something is locking up.

The only reason it might not boot is if something happened to the dash files.

I always recommend setting up X-Select 0.6 as your dash selector anyway, to always give you a choice on what to run.

nah it's something different mate, nothing to do with MXM or Xselect.
I'm not getting any signal, not even the xbox splash (flubber), i'm pretty sure the bios looks for xboxdash.xbe after the splash.

It's almost like I don't have the a/c cable plugged in but I do... it must be my actual xbox, I think I had a similar prob when it was first modded, a DVD or HDD init prob.

anyway i'll give it to a mate to look at, see what he can do.
0.9n comes out and this happens! ARHG! biggrin.gif

Thanks BJ!  Now with the safe mode and alphasorting, this is definately becoming my primary dash!  Who needs evox now, this does all of it, plus more.

I'd like to see some examples or working MXM.xml and menu.xml files with the new features written in.  That'll help us non-programmers with the coding.  smile.gif

Not in the bug report thread, but when I get home tonight I'm doing a bunch of screenshots for the new version.  Watch the regular forum space in about 8 hours.

Ben, great work on the release.

Question, is there a way to disable safe mode?  I know this isn't a good option for most users, but I find I warm boot (four finger salute - IGR) alot, and I find I'm getting safe mode come up more often than I would like.

I saw a WIP .9o in the beta tester area..... wow! you work fast.... anything new in there yet?

No... just prep for future updates (nothing is different at the moment, not even the "About" messages - they still read 0.9n)
