also what happens if my network cable is not plugged in, will it just timeout?

Hmmmm... It gets the time, then converts it into localtime.

I'll have to take a look at that (I also wanted to add the other time protocol.)

You could try running the time server that comes with Win2000 on your local machine (needs to be installed, probably).
