A swish sound would be very important, OH! and a short clicking noise for the last piece would be cool as well.and saves me time of looking for one. Well, here is the first actual movie render, this SHOULD be the actuall static position of the menu so you can start coding for these locations. If you want just a jpg tell me and ill up one as well. Well here it is, a whopping 4 seconds long and just over 2 mb.

dont ask, use the search feature, its been answered, BUT all you have to do is make a dir under c: called skins, put all of your skins folder under that. After wards, put the line"<skinspath>C:Skins</skinspath>" in you mxm.xml file inside the MAIN area. Should work after that

whoknew just sent me the first draft of the xml file and its is looking incredible! Also, a newsfeed will also be integrated into the skin as well, probably making it the first skin to officially incorporate it. The only 2 things that I believe could improved right now are the fonts of non-selected items need more of a contrast between it and the background. Also, there is no preview video..yet. I believe that one would fit in the lower right hand corner of the the SAME menu that's for the apps/games. Preview might fit in this spot...

That would still leave long names like tony hawk pro skater 4 enough space to display it self totally.

And for some reason, the text MXMLoader has a blackbackground for a second when it loads but then the black dissapears and becomes clear like its supposed to? mxm bug or just code?

There's some funkiness in the rendering when it does fade-ins.

I may add something to the code to eliminate this in the skin's XML, though.

Yeah. i noticed the funkiness too. SHould i add a delay to the appearance of the text? would that fix it? And I'll change the color of the unselected item to make it stand out more. Newsfeed is working fine now, and I was thinking of putting the prevideo in the same place that you were thinking of.

Well, we can take some time.... I will see about putting in a "no-fade" type flag in for the transitions into a layout. For now you could put a delay in there.

I also have a modifier, "Shifter" for shifting text through X or Y, and I'm still working on getting it looking right.

What I'd like to do is figure out why it doesn't render properly... all that's happening is I've taken a copy of the previous "back buffer" (the last rendered screen) and overlaying the newly rendered layout with alpha... but I have an idea on that

Ya, I would say to take out the fade and just put in a delay instead, would look better until fade in's work properly.

there will definitely be things changed in the future though, like hopefully a background texture like the real XDK loader.

BTW, the MAMEoX thing at the bottom is the X-S.com newsfeed, therby making this the FIRST and so far ONLY skin that offically supports newsfeeds.

was just messing around with the screenshot placement and my favorite setting was
(Pos t="251" l="345" w="164" h="120") It seemed to put it dead square in the bottom left corner instead of that small gap thats there right now.

for some reason that I couldnt figure out in the code, the up/down arrows arent always accurate? Is this a problem with mxm or just the code right now?

Oh ya, really impressed on the switching hardware stats on the bottom bar +news feed works. Oh, possibly place something like "Feed:" at the beggining of where the news-feeds go so people now what there looking at.
