BJ did with Morpheus, where, I can edit out all but one part of the video so that I can then layer it for a new skin I'm working on.

I used Pan and Crop along with Chromakey.

Morpheus was standing in the Loading Program (conveniently, a white room), but the camera pans towards him (I needed him stationary), so I panned and cropped using keyframes setting about twenty keyframes, carefully positioning the markers at known points on Morpheus.

Chromakeying was 'easier' but it can be trickey as well. You have to play with the controls, and you can keyframe those settings as well.

Keyframes are the, ahem, 'key' to things. They let you make adjustments at certain points, and any intervening frames get those parameters adjusted by extrpolation between the keyframes. Once you get used to it, it works great.
