QUOTE (Xzigx @ May 28 2003, 12:13 PM)
I am hoping for some help in understanding the menu based images.  i don't quite grasp how it works, perhaps I am too tired but, in order for these to work does there need to be an element entry within the menu node specifying the directory's to be listed, within the MXM_skin.xml or is it based on info taken from the Menu.xml?  If it is the former is there any chance of getting a quick example of this and if it is the latter does that mean that thefile needs to be specified IN the menu.xml or does the media file need to be located in the particular folder that is being referenced.  Man I am spinning myself in cirles. blink.gif

You are spinning me in circles  blink.gif

Ah, well, there's a traditional "Media" element for each Item entry that gets filled in by certain criteria - 1)If it's already defined, 2) if there's an MXM_SS.* file in the Item's directory, 3) Failing those, it looks for the TitleImage.xbx

Or something like that (it confuses me too, and I wrote it)

The thing is, you don't have to use the Media entry as the image source - you can use others, for example, if the user defines a "CoverArt" element in their menu Item entries, or create your own basename in the item's directory.

I did this so you could display several images for each menu item, if you wanted to.

Well, PASV seems to be working now. I was able to fathom out the proper operation with FlashFXP. I still need to do more testing, but so far, so good with a nested, 50MB upload to the Xbox in Passive mode.

(Trick is that PASV mode is only active for one transfer, then goes back to non-PASV when the transfer is finished.)

The "WIP" Binaries for 0.9m have been updated. For those who have access, I'd appreciate any reports on testing the PASV mode! TIA!

The only real issue I have left with FlashFXP is it stalls constantly. I have to restart the xbox and reconnect to it with flashfxp.

Both of my problems were solved by the WIP, although my speeds went down a tad bit. I tseems that all FTP issues have been resolved.

I think I have found a bug or maybe I am putting in the wrong code.

<LayoutElement Type="Text" Source="Time" font="fixedsys2">
<Pos t="39" l="500" w="460" h="35" />

I used the font-tag from my html-experiences, dont know if it works tho.
Anyway the time shows up, but it's an black rectangle behind, and i want the text without bakground. i get that if dont have the font-tag, but i want that font there...

OK, that helps... first the easy one: many of the files in the skin directory are probably open and being used, which means they cannot be deleted. Thre really isn't much to do about that, as it would be like pulling the rug out from under MXM.

The output is VERY helpful. It tells me that, for whatever reason, the IP is not initialized, and in fact, being filled with a random value. Worse, the values it sent are totally blitzed, so they didn't come from my host normal IP variable, but just weren't initialized to begin with.

I'll take a scan, now that I know what to look for exactly/ Thanks!

Update on the AceFTP2 and MXM situation..  I can't do shit :/..  Try and upload, just says "Rejected by host machine's software" and when trying to download from my xbox, it says it's working, and it sent the file, but it never goes through..  The file just never appears for me, unfortunatly, I had to bust out evox to FTP..  Which was a hassle, cuz my TV and comp are seperated by floors, so I had to lug my TV upstairs..

nope ws_ftp, i don't know why the 192.168.0.2 was in there, that is the address I use at home, however I am at work and the xbox is on 11 and the pc i was using was on 9

now if only you could get that loop function implemented on the text strings I would be in heaven.  J/K LOL enjoy your time away!
