Trios Hard Drive Selector Slow Boot, Help Please!

I'm hoping someone can help me with this.  I've installed my xbox into a PC case and have a Romtec Trios hard drive selector to switch between 3 drives.  Everything works, but it is very slow to boot up.  In searching the forum, this seems to be a very common problem with the Trios.  Has anybody found a solution to this?  I came across a post about a month or so ago where somebody claimed they had solved the slow boot problem by using a different type of IDE cable, but I cant seem to find the post anywhere.  I know there are other ways than the Trios to switch between drives, but the Trios was the easiest for me to mod so I could switch drives from my wireless gamepad (tutorial coming), and I'd like to stick with it.  Any help would be greatly appreciated!
