Maybe A Qwix Solution....
« on: October 28, 2004, 10:14:00 AM »

I've been trying trying for a while now to get my Qwix+Avalaunch working again to create ISO's from the games on my Xbox hard drive. I switched to having my Xbox on a Wireless G Game Adapter and Wireless Router (Linksys)and installing TrendMicro Internet Security. When I would try to create an ISO it would start off OK but then it would stop around 6% and either stop responding or just crawl.

After a little reading on the net and about a couple days of trying, I finally got it to work without a problem. Here was my solution:

1. Windows XP SP2 Firewall off completely.
2. Use Passive FTP checked in Qwix connection settings.
3. Edited my TrendMicro Internet Security connection exceptions for the IP address of my Xbox to allow incoming and outgoing traffic on "ALL" ports. Because I read somewhere on the net that FTP uses multiple ports not just 21.

Any questions let me know, but I am no computer expert. I've learned all I know about computers the hard way, by screwing things up and having to fix them.

If it works for you post it here and let me know..
