Quix Doesn't Work For Me (boo Hoo!)
« on: January 27, 2004, 04:26:00 AM »

I've followed the tutorial on how to use quix but when creating an iso (after FTPing files from the xbox to my P.C.) quix seems to take ages (says in tutorial that this step should take 2 seconds). When it's completed I end up with a winrar file which is not burnable. This happens EVERY time, I just can't get the iso image. I've followed the tutorial to the letter but it just doesn't seem to work. Any Ideas? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

QUOTE (noomski @ Jan 28 2004, 12:31 PM)
it's just that the file takes ages to convert to an iso (about 10 mins).

First of all, no matter how new your pc is and how much $$ you spent on a fancy CPU, 10 minutes is not a long time to build an xISO. Considering some games can be 4+ gigs large even if you were to copy that much info from one drive to another, you'd be staring at it for a few minutes.

I guess it's true, forever is subjective. wink.gif

Secondly, make sure you are burning a disc from an image, and not burning your iso file to a standard data disc.

How are you testing your DVD-R's? . .. are you using DVD-R or DVD+R?

From the sounds of it, your problem is the burning portion, not the qwix portion.
