Uploading Iso To Xbox Freezes
« on: November 26, 2003, 10:41:00 PM »

i'm on winxp with sp 1.

i have an iso on my pc and using qwix i want to upload it into my xbox.  thanks to qwix i don't have to extract it first before ftp-ing it.

however, the upload just stops at some %.  i am able to abort the operation though.  when i try to upload the same thing happens.  the % completion when this happens varies.  my ftp server on xbox is evo-x btw.

what could be the problem?  thanks.

If you're using the latest (or nearly the latest) EvoX, it has random problems with FTP, as reported by others in several forums here at Xbox-Scene.  The EvoX FTP problems occur with other FTP clients, not just Qwix.

I would suggest running another dashboard when you want to transfer.  Avalaunch 0.48 will give you the best overall performance when combined with Qwix because it supports Boost Mode transfers.  MXM and XBMP both perform pretty well for standard FTP servers.

ok will try avalaunch when i get home.  i was using flashfxp before and i've never encountered problems before.  i couldn't remember what version of evo-x i have installed but its fairly recent.

i was able to upload some iso using qwix yesterday.  just this morning i tried twice using a certain iso and both times i get this problem.

thanks for the reply btw.  :)

One very common cause of this is that you're out of disk space, but as I stated, EvoX itself can cause problems with FTP.  Is it always on the same file?  If so, what's the filename?
