try using a switch and bridging the connection AFTER you boot the unit

nah, it boots fine with them soldered... you must have spilled some on the board.

check to make sure the D0 wire is still connected, and also check the black wire that screws on to the board, make sure it's making good contact.

I fixed it last night I managed to break one of the tracers but with some good soldering workIi managed to fix it.
