Just place it in Media/skin/default   and rename to  screensaver.x

Make sure the screensaver is not running when you first install as you will have grief , disable upload the file then enable screensaver

JohnSlayer sorry dude im no 3d artist im affraid, just grabbed this file of a friend and enlarged to suit Avadash.. I will ask him if he has the time to add some swords for you though..

Killazin corp if its the new version of Ava 0.49.1  the file goes in Media/Skins/default  and rename to  screensaver.x

if its the older version put in the Z cache and rename to screensaver3d.x

And remember to turn of the screensaver while you are uploading or you will have grief, once uploaded then enable the screensaver..

Johnslayer I've uploaded a model you may be interested in. You can download it here

http://webpages.charter.net/gblount/

I can take requests but can only work as time permits.

i have put together a page with some of the models ive made for people. they all have screenshots of what each one looks like. do you guys want me to go through this thread and add all the posted models with screenshots to the page? or do you have one you think i should add? tell me what you think i should do, it could easily become a place with a large selection of models to be used as your screensaver.

click here to look at the page.

I changed the screensaver so it didn't render stuff "on the backside". Dragons wings tended to look odd sometimes, doesn't in this version =)

here's what happens if two surfaces are too close, which is needed for the thin wings.

Spider210 try 20 to 25 units for the model size. As far as getting the correct centering and viewpoint using Max, its anyone's guess.

If you want I can try to give you the details about how to place it in 3DS so it comes out looking alright.

I would very much like to hear your approach to centering the model and locating viewpoint in Max.

Picture here.

Alright.. top right box is the "Front" view.

I drew a box around where the TV view should end up being.

What you do is load in whatever models you want.. then shrink them until the size grids lines don't get any smaller. Like zoom in as far as you can until new grids stop appearing.

Then make sure your stuff fits insides what I drew. You can also see in the other views it should be centered pretty much.. if you don't want it rotating weird.

Hope this helps. Ask if you have any more questins.
